The beginning of a new year provides a fresh start, a clean slate. It gives you a chance to let go of old and unnecessary things, ideas and habits while providing you with the opportunity to invite in new and helpful things, ideas and habits. How many years have you been wearing artificial lenses whether glasses or contacts? Don’t you think it’s about time to take your health and eyesight into your own hands? More and more people are becoming responsible for their own health through prevention and change in lifestyle. Think about how much money you can save in the future by not having to buy stronger prescription glasses or a new case of contacts every year. Ponder how your life would improve if you didn’t have to worry about grabbing your glasses first thing in the morning or right before you walk out the door. Who wouldn’t want to maintain crystal clear vision near and far for the rest of their life?

We’ve all heard the cliche new years resolutions: exercising more, eating healthier, quitting smoking, saving money, etc… What all of these have in common is that they’re all about dropping bad habits. The problem with new years resolutions though is that you can’t just drop a bad habit. You have to have something better to take its place. In terms of your vision resolution, you can’t just stop wearing your glasses and expect your eyesight to improve because you probably still have bad vision habits. That’s where the Bates Method comes in. I not only help my students discover what their bad vision habits are, but I teach them new and better vision habits to take the place of the old ones. Lots of good vision habits can be found under the Bates Method tab on this website and they include palming, sunning, shifting, swinging, fusing, blinking, breathing, relaxing and centralizing. Improving your eyesight naturally and getting rid of your glasses and contacts may not be on your radar as a possibility, but I invite you to explore the Bates Method in order to make 2014 the year you reclaim perfect eyesight. There is no better time to begin your journey back to clarity than now. What’s holding you back?
