Dr. Bates discovered the underlying root cause for most functional vision problems, including Myopia (nearsightedness), Hyperopia (farsightedness), Presbyopia (“old-age sight”), Amblyopia (“lazy eye”), Astigmatism, Cataract, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and more.
The stem of all these imbalances is strain. Strain and tension appears in many forms: mental, physical and emotional. Any form of strain decreases the vision.
Not only did Dr. Bates discover the cause of most functional vision problems, but he also established a simple yet powerful remedy: relaxation. Like it’s counterpart, relaxation may assume mental, physical or emotional forms. Any form of relaxation increases the vision.
Integral Eyesight Improvement teaches several relaxation techniques in addition to various vision training techniques that teach the eyes to work together, to equalize eye strength, to refocus at different distances, to read fine print near and far… and all while maintaining dynamic relaxation.
The Bates Method is not eye exercises. To learn more about the differences between the Bates Method and eye exercises, listen to Episode 2 of The Naked Eye Podcast.
