If you’ve sent me an email recently and haven’t heard back, it’s probably because I was busy planning my wedding, which happened on August 22!

Since Cynthia and I got married at her parent’s home, much of the wedding was completely DIY. Aside from a few amazing vendors who assisted with equipment, music, and catering, the Oxenfeld and Tina families worked hard to get everything set up for an amazing event.

We transformed a messy barn into a cozy lounge, had copious lawn games for guests set out, served delicious food and drinks, kept a roaring fire pit burning, and pretty much all the ingredients for a good time to be had by all.

It was such a communally inspired event, from having members of our Ecovillage as the flower girls and singers during our ceremony to another neighbor baking our wedding cake. Cynthia even grew all of her own flowers for the decorations and bouquets!

There was so much to coordinate, but was well worth it. The end result was a lifelong memory of having one of the best days of our lives.
