Vermont Vision Retreat Complete

A wonderful group of folks gathered in the Green Mountains of Vermont for a four day retreat at an off-the-grid retreat center called Sky Meadow.

Participants were invited to spend as much time as possible without wearing their glasses and without looking at artificial screens, to see how much improvement could occur when good vision habits are maintained all day and all night long.

We did palming visualizations together, learned about the anatomy & physiology of the eye, and explored the pillars of natural vision improvement like relaxation, movement, light, memory, and imagination. There were morning yoga classes, daily vision classes, fire circles, nature walks, and plenty of free time – because after all, it is a retreat.

We took advantage of the remote location of Sky Meadow to do a group night walk in the woods with no flashlights to adapt from day vision to night vision and activate our peripheries in new ways. Not to mention facing our fears!

Not only did we face our fears of the dark, but we also cleared certain fears relating to vision loss and vision improvement. These immersions enable much deeper dives into both the physical practice side and the mental/emotional side.

Throughout the retreat, people were experiencing clear flashes without glasses, where they temporarily see significantly clearer than normal – whether it shows up as seeing individual leaves on trees far away, new lines of the eye chart across the room, or reading finer print up close.

It always astonishes me how fast people improve at these retreats, and how the results can sometimes be more long-lasting.

It was also my first time collaborating with my partner Cynthia in this way, as she was leading her own separate retreat called “Stepping Into Community” at the same time and place as our vision retreat. This allowed for some spontaneous overlaps between our two groups over shared meals and during free time.

Lots of connections were made and new habits were established. I am already planning my next vision retreat here in Vermont for 2026, so stay tuned!
